New Year, New House, New Blog

My new-ish husband and I just moved from our teeny tiny apartment in the city to a house right outside the city.  We are currently in the midst of transforming it into "our" space.  So naturally, I've become even more obsessed with art and design blogs hoping to become inspired!

The first step was to "neutralize" the walls.  Our house was a rainbow when we moved in!  Red kitchen, faux wood panels in our kitchen nook, bright yellow dining room and two-tone blue living room.  Yes, two-tone blue.  While we're still working on the kitchen and nook, I thought I'd share our progress so far.

Here are a few before pics:

Two-tone blue...yikes!

Busy, busy, busy!
Very choppy!

After a several coats of primer and Behr Hazelnut Cream, here are the after pics:

It's incredible what a little paint can do.  The space has been completely transformed. Not to mention it's much brighter!  This weekend we're tackling the kitchen and nook.

Wish us luck!

  1. Wow!! What a difference. I didn't realize how crazy the "before" colors were. The current "look" would add several hundred dollars to the rent. It looks terrific. Can't wait to see the Kitchen / Nook.
