Monday Inspiration: Random Harvest Finds

Whenever I need a little extra inspiration oomph, I venture over to the Arlington Random Harvest. With it's polished design and changing inventory, it's easy to become inspired!

Sublime Steamer Trunks

I've been contemplating these past few days on how to refinish our steamer trunk, so I took to Pinterest to investigate the different styles of steamer trunks.

I adore the bright, clean look of this painted steamer trunk.

It's rustic and shabby chic all wrapped into one.

 

Outdoors! Would never have thought.

I love the idea of using the steamer trunk as a coffee table-charming and functional.

Not only am I smitten with this bedroom, but the trunk is very similar to what ours looks like.  There's something very appealing about maintaining the vintage feel of the trunk.

So many options...what to choose, what to choose!

Monday Inspiration: Eric Cohler

I fell in love with Manhattan designer Eric Cohler's Charleston home several months ago.  Every now and then I like to revisit the beautiful house with its sweeping verandas and Federal architecture. I think one of my favorite aspects is Cohler's ability to marry traditional and modern design.  I love his use of contemporary art to add a pop of color and a vibrant flare to each room.  Cohler- who has a masters degree in historic preservation- has done an amazing job blending the historical nature of the house with the comforts of today.

I'm completely smitten!

Monday Inspiration: Random Harvest

When my mom was in town two weekends ago, we went to three out of the four Random Harvest locations!  Saturday we stopped by the Georgetown shop after brunch, Saturday afternoon we swung by the Arlington location on on our way home and Monday we popped into the Alexandria store during a little detour through Old Town. A little absurd and wonderfully perfect.  Here are some of my favorite finds.

I always find a Random Harvest trip is exactly the boost I need to become inspired to "finish" my home...atleast until I think of the next project!

Monday Inspiration: Beach

We're heading to the beautiful beaches of the Gulf Coast on Wednesday and I couldn't be more excited! Sun, sand, delicious seafood and  lots of southern hospitality!  What better way to prepare than beach-inspired spaces.
